VIOZ CHALET

  Description

An itinerary which allows you to reach the highest chalet on the central and eastern Alps, at the foot of the Vioz mountain (3645mt) from which you can enjoy the spectacular view from the Forni glacier.
Departure is from Pejo Fonte using the cable car up to the Scoiattolo chalet and from here using the chair lift (it is advisable the check if the lifts are open c/o Funnily of Peg Tel 0463 753238) up to the Doss dei Gembri chalet at 2330m. From this point you can follow path 105 under the panoramic peak of the Vioz, where the path rises up on the eastern and western slopes of the mountain to then face the Mite and Zampil valleys. The path quickly reaches a height of 3000m where there is only one difficult climb: the Brich rocky risalto. The walk is made easier by using a fixed rope, a selletta concludes the walk to the Mantova chalet where you can book accommodation. The Vioz peak is approximately half an hour away from the chalet with its spectacular view of the Forni glacier and all of its 13 peaks with the dolomites in the background (Adamello and Presanella).
