Description
The
beauty of the Cevedale group is summarised in this itinerary
even though does not touch the eternal glaciers it offers the
excursionist the essence of walking through the mountains. From
Malga Mare (easily reached by car from the town of Cogolo or on
foot from Pejo town via the 105 and 127 paths) taking path 102
you rise along the inaccessible slope covered with vegetation to
reach Pian Venezia where a shelter-chalet rises (22902m). The
Val Venezia forms an ample dell with the Noce Bianco stream
running through the middle and moved by rippling profiles and
large grazing land is closed off on the western side by the Vioz
and Palon de la Mare mountain chain. Keeping to the path the
left orographic leads to the Larcher chalet, recently renovated,
which is. situated on a rocky terrace. From here the panorama
runs along the peaks of the Cevedale and on the surrounding
hanging glacier. The excursion then continues on towards the
lake Marmotte following the signposts 104 and 123. Keeping to
the 123 the circular walk cuts the southern slope of the
Careser, above the lake Lungo in order to reach lakes Nero and
Careser (a hydroelectric basin) and past the base of the dam,
the path turns southwards towards the locality of Lame (2430m)
then rapidly descending between the broken grazing slopes to
dive into the coniferous woods which take you back to the square
in front of the power station.
