VAL DI PEIO>THE
TOWNS> STROMBIANO
The
first
detour
from the provincial road on the right leads to Strombiano
(1192m), a Roman predial of Strambus. Until ten years ago the
main road from bridge of Fucine
joined it. In the valley of the settlement you can see the ruins
of Casącia, the tower of Strombiano, whose structure probably
dates back to medieval times and which were used to control the
road. This village is an old settlement at the valley road,
where wood plays an important part with its beams and balconies
and area, which extends towards the mountain.
There is a chapel dedicated to S. Antonio of Padova, built in
1706.
There
is a valuable wooden altar attributed to Lenner and can be found
in on of the small apses.
